Processing Payments with SwipeSimple
How to Process Payments with the SwipeSimple Mobile App
If you're just getting started with SwipeSimple, this article walks through the core things you'll do during a typical checkout — from adding items to sending a receipt. Once you're familiar with these basics, most transactions will take just a few taps.
Quick Items
Quick Items let you enter any custom amount on the spot, without needing a pre-built item in your catalog. Use them for one-off charges, custom services, or any amount that doesn't fit a standard item — just type in the total and move to payment.
Item Catalog
If you sell a set list of products or services, your item catalog lets you browse and select items directly at checkout. Prices and details are pulled in automatically, so transactions stay accurate without any manual entry.
Applying Discounts
You can apply a discount at checkout as either a percentage or a flat amount. Select it before completing the transaction and the total adjusts automatically — no mental math required.
Keyed Entry
When a customer isn't paying with a physical card, Keyed Entry lets you type in their card details manually to complete the payment. It's useful for phone orders or situations where the card can't be swiped, dipped or tapped.
Sending a Receipt
After a payment goes through, send a receipt by email or text directly from the app. It takes a few seconds and gives the customer immediate confirmation that their payment was processed.
